
Valecha Engineering Ltd
of Mumbai has won two
significant contracts in
connection with the Trans
Arunachal Highway Project, a
trunk route of about 1,811 km
which is being developed into
two-lanes of NH standards. The
total value of the contracts is
around

500 crore.
The mega project will link
Tawang in the north-western
tip of Arunachal Pradesh to
Kanubari in the south-eastern
part of the state, and finally
end on NH-52 at Akajan near
Dibrugarh in Assam. It is being
executed under the Special
Accelerated Road Development
Programme in North-
East Region.
"We have bagged an order
from PWD (NH Works),
Assam, for two laning the
Trans Arunachal Highway
(NH-52B) from Kanubari to
Bogibeel Bridge approaches
near Dibrugarh in Assam (km
0.00 to km 63.40) for a
contract value of

236 crore,"
Dinesh Valecha, Director,
Valecha Engineering Ltd, told
Projectmonitor. The project
has a concession period of three
years including the construction
phase.
"The second project awarded
to us by PWD, Arunachal
Pradesh, is for two laning the
Lalpul-Manmao-Changlang
stretch of NH-52B (km 0.00 to
km 68.30) in Arunachal
Pradesh. This contract is valued
at

266 crore. Work on the
project will commence by
April and is scheduled to be
completed in three years,"
Valecha said.
Meanwhile, the company is
likely to achieve financial closure
of the

500-crore
Bhubaneswar-Puri road project
(four laning 59 km of NH-203)
in Orissa by end of this month.
The company has tied up with
five to six banks including
State bank of India. The project
has been awarded by NHAI on
BOT basis.
