The area of the block, located 190 km off the coast of Paradip Port in Orissa, is 9,980 km2. The wells will be drilled up to depths of 5,700m to 6,000m. Water-based drilling mud will be used for the drilling. The cost of this drilling will be Rs 545.32 crore.

The second block, MN-DWN-2002K1/B, is also 6,000m deep, has an area of 1,180 km2 and a water depth of 2,380m. The third well, MN-DWN-2002K1/C, is 5,700m deep, has an area of 1,820 km2 and a water depth of 2,170m.
